Ulaanbaatar to host Chess Grand Prix 2014

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the President of the World Chess Federation is visiting Mongolia. The President of the World Chess Federation met G.Zandanshatar, Head of the Mongolian Chess Federation and signed an agreement for cooperation to host an international chess competition in Ulaanbaatar next year. Ulaanbaatar city will host the female chess players high rating Grand Prix Competition in 2014. The Competition will have a total of 250 thousand US dollar prize fund. The World Chess Federation will cover all expenses.

The President of the World Chess Federation also announced during the meeting this morning that Ulaanbaatar will host the Chess Olympiad between school pupils in 2015 and the World Youth Chess Championships in 2017.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the President of the World Chess Federation also expressed satisfaction in the idea of supporting the development of the chess sport with techniques and methods if chess is further approved in the academic curriculum.
