State Lion wins in Tsagaan Sar wrestling

The National Wrestling Competition held for the Tsagaan Sar holiday, celebrating the Year of the Victorious Water Snake, according to Lunar Calendar, was organized for the last day of the year or “Bitun” on Sunday at the Mongolian Wrestling Palace.

During the Tsagaan Sar holiday 256 of the strongest wrestlers from all over Mongolia competed in a knock-out competition.

However there were no new ranking titles were given out as the tournament promises to be the big challenge that will determine who will win during the next Naadam festival. In the semi final round there were 8 wrestlers selected. In the final round Erkhembayar Gunaajav, the State Lion, wrestler of Suld Sport Committee and Tavan khan stage, from Mandal sum, Selenge aimag, won the tournament. He defeated the final winner Munkhbat Sukhbaatar, State Champion, wrestler of Uvs nuur stage, origin from Baruunturuun sum, Uvs aimag,
